Trusty Trench

hat given by grandma : Zara scarf : Ascension trench coat : Flying Monkey jeans : Colonial Madness boots

This is my favorite trench and not just because it's my only one. ;) I have yet to find another one that can fit the bill in softness and embellishments. This coat has been with me everywhere including me and hubby's first trip abroad to The Netherlands and Belgium.

Its sparkly features move it a step beyond your ordinary trench. It has silver sequined epaulets on the shoulders and silver wire and faux pearls embroidered on the the sleeve cuffs and back of the belt. Pure love.

Also, I've been trying to find the perfect gray tube scarf, and I did see one that I liked on the Topshop site, but it was about 50 bucks. Then I decided that I could probably use a really thick scarf to mimic the effect. Found this scarf at Zara the other day (they have several other colors too!) for $19.99, and it's super long and thick. Perfect for my uses. Bryan thought I looked ridiculous (maybe because we're in Texas weather), but hey, I worked out the look I was going for, and it kept me extremely warm. :)

P.S.- I was about to crop out that dangling cable in the pictures, but I thought it added a weird element. Strange visual interests always intrigue me.
