This weekend Bryan and I finally had some much-needed time together. We spent the day hanging out on the lawn in front of the Menil. I never realized what a positive difference a blanket, soft grass, and a tummy to lay my head on made on my mental well-being. Must remember to do more often.
One thing I absolutely love is food. Thankfully, Houston provides me with an AMAZING selection of restaurants. We were finally able to try out Reef which has received all kinds of acclaim including #1 Seafood Restaurant in the U.S. by Bon Appetit Magazine.
Crispy Skin Snapper, Sweet and Sour Chard, Tomato Brown Butter
Roasted Grouper, Corn Pudding, Salsa Cruda, Grilled Peach
Fried Mac & Cheese
Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. That is one happy plate!
My favorite was the Snapper. The skin was nice and crispy and the sauce had the sweetness of maple syrup.
I also found a maxi I am happy with. You can purchase it here.
The dragon head bracelets are from my favorite resale destination in the city, the Guild Shop. If you're ever in town, do not pass this place up. They have quite an extensive jewelry collection!
