There are several bridges like this one in my neighborhood that overlook the freeway. You get a pretty amazing vantage point making it a popular place for protesters and the like. It can also be relaxing to just sit here and look up at the sky on a nice, clear day like this one. Unfortunately, one of these bridges is already marked with sadness after a skateboarder plunged to his death from it just last year. Goes to show that beauty and tragedy sometimes go hand and hand.

On a lighter note... for those who enjoy food as much as I do, I would like to introduce an extremely tasty blog, The Little Things, created by my soon-to-be-married friends, Val and Mani.

I love reading about their adventures as they come up with drool-inducing recipes and also whip up traditional favorites. I'm really hoping to have a little food get-together with these guys soon. This sweet couple really inspires me to get my hands down and dirty in the kitchen.

Just getting down to my roots. For some reason, I always feel like a true cowgirl when I wear a plaid shirt. And for some strange reason, I also have a tendency to pair it with dark denim. I've even got my lone star necklace and boots on too! I just didn't leave anything out, did I? At least I didn't wear my cowboy boots. That would have been just too much. Yep.

I decided to get a little matchy-matchy today. That's right. Stripes here, black there, pink everywhere. It's all my mother's fault. Yep, let's blame that woman who gave birth to me and started matching my outfits since day one. I have since worn more outfits with less obvious matching overtones, but then my inner matching self freed itself on this one. It must have been wanting to bust out for some time now.

Oh, and guess whose Forever 21 just unloaded a shipment of those infamous sleeping cross rings? I missed out on getting one online and was completely fine with that. Shipping alone would have cost more than the ring. However, seeing a bowl of swimming crosses really got my blood flowing. For a mere $3.80, I just couldn't say no.
