Myth + Symbol's Workshop Series Kickoff

Myth + Symbol had its first workshop yesterday, and I had such a great time! We painted planters and made rope harnesses for them over pizza, candy, and wine. I cannot think of anything else I would have wanted to do more on my Thursday night. I know, I'm such a craft nerd. If you're ever in Houston, don't forget to stop by Myth + Symbol. Their shop is such a treat! You can find a photo of my finished planter on my Instagram and other finished planters at the Myth + Symbol Facebook page.

  1. Thanks for bringing along your camera to document the workshop. Chau wants to host another planter class since this was so much fun. XOXO Trang

  2. I admire those who can do arts and crafts. Sadly, my dad's artistic gene passed me by a long mile. I've only (kind of) mastered the art of wrapping presents last Christmas. My best friend called me from NZ to congratulate my achievement. I guess she must've nearly passed out from the shock :P

    1. Oh gosh, nerdy fact- I love wrapping presents! Ha, I'd like to be the 2nd to congratulate you on finally joining the present wrapping crew! Funny, I'm pretty sure I got the crafty/artsy gene from my dad who used to scribble illustrations on a notepad when he was on the phone. I would find his version of Snoopy and other caricatures whenever I walked by that notepad. My mother later told me that he drew comic books as a kid. I would have loved to see those!

  3. I love stuff like this - we don't seem to have parties like this near me which I can drag friends to. I'm a little bit crafty and I used to really enjoy making a big song and dance about wrapping pressies - I was always known for doing lovely wrapping. Not any more though - when you've finished wrapping all the boys Crimbo pressies - you don't feel like being crafty at 2am in the morning.
