If you are ever in Houston and need a place to stay, may I suggest the modern and chic Hotel Sorella? Although I don't normally find myself hanging around boutique hotels in my hometown, it just so happens that my bar review course is held in the adjoining conference center. So, of course I must go exploring! This is definitely the kind of hotel I like to stay in when I am out of town and my pocketbook permits it. I absolutely love the decor, and I dream about laying out in the cabana area every day that I pass it. Truly a little oasis in the city!

And for those who don't mind a little sappiness in their life, check out this stop motion save-the-date:

Sooo sooo cute and such a great idea. The couple took 1000 photos and edited the whole thing. Crazy!! It's difficult to watch it all but you get the idea. Great background music as well. Sigh.

  8. That hotel is so well designed with the many punches of colour here and there and the mod decor. It's fabulous you got to stay there.

I'm actually a big fan of boutique hotels. They usually have better amenities than regular chain hotels.

However, those cabanas seem disproportionately large to that tiny little pool...

  10. Mae Lu: Me too! I love boutique hotels! The unique and stylish decor is usually what gets me.

I agree with you about that sad pool. It does seem rather small compared to those big comfy cabanas.
