Playin' It Safe

Safe by Rebecca Turbow has always been my comforting escape from fashion atrocities such as the strangely popular Ed Hardy line by Christian Audigier. I have been a loyal Safe follower almost since its inception and have watched it transform and grow.

Rebecca's clothing and accessories are soft. simple. and modern. I love that she sticks with one color and runs with it.

Her original collections embodied a '50s space age feel by focusing on aqua (my favorite color) and white.

She has since moved on from aqua to a gray color palette and her current summer pieces have clean and simple lines as well as an affordable price tag to boot. Effects of the economy, perhaps?

Safety in Numbers, Safe's special projects line, recently collaborated with IHeartComix on a women's tee that pays homage to The Misfits (and yes, I have a thing for Danzig). The shirt comes in two colorways and is currently on sale at the Safe website for a meager $25. I know I've got my order in!

Oooh, just got a sneak peek at the Safe fall '09 collection and it looks as though black is the new gray!

Some of the looks are a little too "urban" for my taste but I will gladly take this map dress any day.

Paired with these booties. Yum.
